Man; 25 to 45 years old; South Asian. Can be a Tenor, Baritone, or Bass (role is flexible in voice type). Kovalan is the mythic hero from the ancient Tamil epic who appears as a figment of Kanika’s imagination. He is immaculate, handsome, old-timey, mature, and charismatic. He guides Kanika through the story even as he mirrors the flaws and contradictions of her husband. The actor also doubles as the JUDGE, JEWELER, and LIAM'S VOICE requiring strong versatility and the ability to shift seamlessly between grounded realism and heightened theatricality. Should be a strong dancer and Shakespearean/physical actor. Please include a dance reel if you have it. Must sing/dance.
